event is held on the Snake River in the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area in mid-September.\u00a0 The focal point is a 55\u00a0mile round-trip run down the Snake River from Pittsburg Landing to the confluence of the Salmon River and return.\u00a0 The \u201cofficial\u201d run is on Saturday, but many members arrive a day or two early to fish or just relax.\u00a0 Most folks stay at Pittsburg Landing campground for the event.\u00a0 The Saturday run commences around 9:00\u00a0a.m. and as a rule most participants have returned by 5:00\u00a0p.m.\u00a0 Saturday night the WWA hosts a complementary steak dinner and typically, a couple of the more gracious members treat the crowd to an ice cream social.<\/p><p>This is not an overly technical run, but there are several crucial areas where proper diligence is in order.<\/p><p><strong><a
